MICHELIN ENERGY
PROOF No.1
With MICHELIN A 2 ENERGY save up to 2,3 liters of fuel per 100 km*
The MICHELIN A 2 ENERGY range
Because 1 full tank of fuel in 3 can be explained by your tyres, we have designed the MICHELIN A 2 ENERGY range to help you cut your fuel consumption
What is the secret of this result?
MICHELIN A 2 ENERGY tyres are made using a specific rubber compound which cuts energy dissipation, while maintaining grip, safety and an excellent lifespan
Some talk... MICHELIN acts
"THE CHALLENGE", a comparative test, proved that MICHELIN A 2 ENERGY tires enable fuel savings of 28.69 liters over 1250 km*. Imagine over 100,000 kilometers!!
THE 4 LIVES OF MICHELIN TYRES
PROOF No.2
The high technology casing on MICHELIN tyres enables you to make fuel savings at each stage of their 4 lives.
It includes a rubber thickness which enables you to regroove and retread with MICHELIN REMIX in all safety.
Fuel savings of up to 2.3 liters over 100km*
As soon as they leave the MICHELIN factories, your MICHELIN A 2 ENERGY tyres enable you to cut your fuel bill.
Fuel savings of up to 2 liters over 100km*
After the first regrooving, you can save up to 2 liters/100 km* for 25% more kilometers. Your MICHELIN tyres have a sufficient layer of rubber for a first regrooving, and providing new grip to your tyres
Fuel savings of up to 2.3 liters over 100km*
Your tyre is as good as new. After retreading with MICHELIN REMIX your tyre offers the same fuel savings as your original tyre, in other words 2.3 liters over 100 km* for 100% more kilometers
Fuel savings of up to 2 liters over 100km*
After a second regrooving you can, again, save up to 2 liters over 100 km* for 25% more kilometers

Why tires consume fuel?
Did you know that your tyres have an impact on your fuel consumption?
In fact, 1 full tank in 3 can be explained by your tyres
Little reminder...
It is obvious… To travel on land, you need energy, including fuel. To cut consumption, the forces working against the moving vehicle (e.g.: gravity, air resistance, mechanical friction, inertia, etc.) must be reduced. Tyre rolling resistance, a force very often underestimated, is however responsible for one third of a Truck's fuel consumption.
Let's look a little closer...
Tyres must be flexible to ensure comfort and grip. Therefore they change shape on contact with the ground. To return to their initial shape, tyres need energy, and some of this is lost as heat energy. This heat loss is called "rolling resistance".
How does Michelin successfully reduce this phenomenon?
For years, MICHELIN has made minimizing rolling resistance a priority. Since 1992, MICHELIN has added silica to its rubber compounds, which maintains grip while reducing heat loss…the MICHELIN A 2 Energy range was born and rolling resistance was cut by 3.
LEGAL NOTICES
Proof No.1
Result obtained and certified by adjudicator during the “CHALLENGE” test with MICHELIN A 2 ENERGY tyres compared to MICHELIN E 2+ tyres.
Proof No.2
Vehicle combination entirely fitted with MICHELIN tires: 2-axle tractor unit with 315/80 R 22.5 tyres and a semi-trailer with 3 single and fixed axles fitted with 385/65 R 22.5 tyres. The savings stated for each stage of the tire's life are not cumulative.
Life 1
MICHELIN new tyres: result obtained and certified by adjudicator during the “CHALLENGE” test with new MICHELIN A 2 ENERGY tyres compared to new E 2 + tyres.
Lives 2 and 4
Regrooving: simulated result for a vehicle combination fitted with new MICHELIN A 2 ENERGY tyres against a vehicle combination fitted with MICHELIN A 2 ENERGY regrooved tyres on the steering + driving axles and middle axle of the semi-trailer (the other axles were fitted with new tires).
Life 3
MICHELIN REMIX tires produce the same results as new MICHELIN tyres of the same range.
The savings announced for each stage in the tyre's life can be combined.
1/ New tyre
* Basis for calculation: the average savings (1 litre / 100 km) which can be made over the average lifespan of MICHELIN A 2 ENERGY tyres before any regrooving or retreading with Michelin Remix, compared to the MICHELIN E 2 + range..
2/ 1st regrooving
* Basis for calculation: simulation of the average savings (1 litre / 100 km) which can be made over the average lifespan of regrooved tyres for a vehicle combination fitted with new MICHELIN A 2 ENERGY tyres compared to a vehicle combination fitted with regrooved MICHELIN A 2 ENERGY tyres for the recommended axles.
3/ Retreading with MICHELIN REMIX
* Basis for calculation: the average savings (1 litre / 100 km) which can be made over the average lifespan of tyres of the MICHELIN A 2 ENERGY range retreaded with Michelin Remix.
4/ 2nd regrooving
Basis for calculation: simulation of the average savings (1 litre / 100 km) which can be made over the lifespan of regrooved tyres for a vehicle combination fitted with Michelin Remix retreaded tyres of the MICHELIN A 2 ENERGY range compared to a vehicle combination fitted with regrooved MICHELIN A 2 ENERGY tyres for the recommended axles.
